The board of education recently voted to change spring break, giving students an additional three days off. Spring break will now occur April 14-22.
This change is possible because the district allotted more calamity days than were necessary this past winter. Throughout the extended spring break, upgrades to Seneca East’s technology will be made, including removing current equipment and installing ViewSonic boards, computer systems, and sound systems in each classroom. The new equipment is the result of a USDA Distance Learning Technology grant. We had originally planned to complete this installation over Christmas break; unfortunately, delivery delays changed our timeline.
I’d like to reiterate that the additional time off is for students only. Staff will spend these three days training on the new equipment, so they are ready to implement the new technology when students return on Monday, April 25.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding of this change. We hope this additional time off will give your child and family a chance to relax and reset so we can finish this school year strong.
